About Fallon Health Weinberg-PACE: Fallon Health Weinberg-PACE is a long-term care
program for older adults who qualify for a nursing-home level of care, but wish to stay living at
home and in their community. We are a Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE),
providing complete medical care and support services that helps people to remain living safely at
home. All care is coordinated and provided by an interdisciplinary team specializing in geriatric
care, working with participants and their caregivers to create an individualized care plan.
As part of the PACE interdisciplinary team, responsible for the coordination and monitoring of care and services to maintain participants in a safe community environment.
SUMMARY OF PURPOSE:
To make available attractive, nutritious and palatable meals in an efficient, pleasant and clean environment while maintaining federal, state and district guidelines. Participant and team interaction will be encouraged. Provides supervision to the Food Service Associate on day to day activities and manages performance. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Registered dietitian. The employee also interacts with and takes direction from the day center manager and program Director. The employee is expected to respect the right to privacy and security of PHI (Protected Health Information) and EPHI (Electronic Protected Health Information). Positive and effective interpersonal/communication skills are required
Complies with department rules, procedures, administrative directives and regulations, district policies and procedures and local, state and federal rules and regulations. Supervises Food Service Associate to ensure associate is performing all duties and responsibilities in appropriate manner, provides education, guidance, and correction when necessary.
Inventories and orders food service items (food, beverage, chemicals, paper products, etc.)
Completes mandatory in-services as required by NYS DOH and CMS regulations
Prepares meals using district menus, standardized recipes, designated portion sizes and following district menus sanitation procedures
Plans and organizes work schedules
Stores, utilizes and disposes of food and supplies following federal, state, local and district regulations
Follows sanitation and safety standards in clean up and operation of the kitchen and kitchen equipment.
Responsible for the maintenance and repair of equipment
Maintains and submits accident reports
Safely uses cleaning equipment and supplies.
Leads and trains staff
Assists Registered Dietitian with maintenance of Emergency food supply; rotating items as necessary
Adheres to weekly cleaning assignments
Performs other tasks as may be assigned within the parameters of the job
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Certified in SERVE SAFE preferred.
1 year of food service and cook experience
Supervisory experience preferred
Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control.
Knowledge of food service lines set-up and temperature requirements.
Knowledge of food preparation and presentation methods, techniques, and quality standards
