Brief summary of purpose:

The Fallon Health Facilities Director is responsible to ensure the availability of Fallon Health, inclusive of Summit ElderCare, program facilities and equipment that meet operational, regulatory and community relations requirements. The Director will work in close collaboration with SE and FCHP leadership and designated staff to lead and manage the budgeting, design, planning, vendor contracting, construction, maintenance and ongoing operations of buildings, equipment and other related supports.


Primary job responsibilities:

  • Ensures ongoing maintenance of FH facilities including routine maintenance of building and grounds, interior and exterior cleaning, repairs and preventive maintenance.

  • Develops and administers an annual facilities budget and ensures that targets are met.

  • Manages and coordinates lease negotiations and renewals.

  • Evaluates, selects and negotiates with vendors to meet program needs and ensure efficient and effective vendor relationships.

  • In collaboration with FH leadership and external vendors, leads and manages the budgeting, design, permitting, planning, construction, ordering and installation of furniture, fixtures and equipment, and inspections of new or renovated facilities.

  • Proactively stays abreast of local, state and federal building and regulatory codes related to facilities and equipment.

  • Develops and manages positive working relationships with vendors, regulators and community neighbors.

  • Assists with the identification and management of security vendors and related equipment.

  • Assists the Manager of SE Quality and Risk Management and SE Site Directors with ensuring that equipment inspection and maintenance is completed according to recommendations.

  • Acts as a primary resource for FCHP IT and telecom staff to effectively deliver service that supports FH operations.

  • Assists with other support and development related duties as assigned.

  • Assures that facilities support the FH brand and positive community relations.



Undergraduate degree in facilities management or sufficient equivalent experience


  • Licenses and previous experience in one or more maintenance and construction trades strongly preferred *.    *

  • Valid Driver’s License and Clean Driving Record Required


A minimum of 5-10 year experience in facilities management and development. Knowledge of Massachusetts building codes and related regulatory guidelines essential. Must be able to read and interpret architectural, engineering and construction plans. Demonstrated successful track record in building project management and facilities operations including previous experience with managing architectural and construction contracts.
