Brief Summary of Purpose:
The System Access Lead is responsible for all duties necessary to maintain security practices and to provide minimum necessary access levels within the organization. This position monitors and audits information systems to confirm adherence to information security compliance policies. This position is responsible for insuring that system access is removed for terminated employees and contractors and revoking access when a user no longer requires access to an application(s) as notified by HR, Management or as discovered during a system audit. The System Access Lead meets regularly with application owners to insure that user access is appropriate and controlled and defines procedures by which system access is administered by System Access Administrators.
Oversees the fulfillment of all new, change or revoked access requests to applications, email, websites, file transfer services and building entrances submitted on behalf of employees, business partners and contractors.
Insures that work is completed within expected and reasonable timeframe based on established SLAs.
Ensures that security requests align with current security strategy and audit compliance.
Defines and documents system access procedures that satisfy business requirements and comply to established information security policies.
Maintains role-based security profiles in all application environments.
Provide expertise and insight to business and IT teams when establishing new security roles and approval processes for new or existing applications/systems.
Troubleshoots and resolves user authorization access problems.
Conducts internal system access audits on high-profile systems.
Acts as liaison to Internal Audit and IT Security teams when conducting system access audits.
Bachelor’s degree in related field of study. Technical certificate, education or work experience may be substituted in lieu of education as determined by Management.
CISM – Certified Information Security Manager certificate would be considered a plus but not required
Must be proficient with Microsoft Windows, Active Directory and Office applications. Must have a clear understanding of IT controls and compliance techniques including past experience participating in corporate audit programs. Must demonstrate leadership skills and temperament with the ability to coach. Motivate, delegate, communicate and reward effectively.
